Summary:
The Director of Children, Youth, and Family Ministries is a full-time position (35-40 hours weekly), reporting directly to the Rector (senior pastor) to lead the Children’s, Youth, and Family Ministries of the parish.

Our mission is “Seeking to see and serve Christ in all persons,” and the Director will collaborate with the Rector, staff, and volunteers to fulfill this mission.

Responsibilities:

  • Foster the growth of disciples of Jesus through organizing, overseeing, and nurturing the Children’s and Youth Ministry.
  • Support the integration of children, youth, and parents into parish life as full members of the church.
  • Develop effective Sunday School curricula and Children’s Chapel experiences.
  • Coordinate the Nursery and provide oversight for nursery staff.
  • Establish pastoral connections with parents and their children, coordinating Youth Ministry and Adult Education.
  • Lead special activities and programs, such as Multigenerational programs and Vacation Bible School
  • Identify, recruit, train, and support leaders and volunteers, including safety training.
  • Develop a leadership team for Youth Ministry, ensuring effective leadership and connection to the community.
  • Organize and lead Youth Groups for relational and experiential growth in Christian discipleship.
  • Teach, mentor, and care pastorally for children, youth, and parents, empowering teens to grow as disciples of Jesus Christ.
  • Manage the approved Children’s and Youth ministries program.

Qualifications:

  • Committed Christian with a strong dedication to Jesus Christ and the church.
  • Demonstrated skills in Christian maturity, responsibility, organization, and relationship-building.
  • Experience in teaching and leading children’s ministries.
  • Ability to recruit, train, and support volunteer teachers.
  • Understanding and respect for the Episcopal tradition.
  • Good judgment in boundaries and technology use.
  • Ability to work with diverse backgrounds and age groups.

Compensation and benefits:

  • Full-time position with salary and benefits, including retirement and health insurance.
  • Annual salary range: $45,000 – $55,000, based on experience and abilities.

Education and experience:

  • Undergraduate Degree.
  • Minimum two years’ experience in growing and sustaining Children’s ministry.
