Prior to becoming St. Paul’s Communications Director, Geoff spent the bulk of his career as a videographer and editor working in community media and local government television. He brings with him a passion for “telling stories”, either through visual mediums or the written word. Geoff’s mandate is to create, organize, and implement effective communications messages and strategies, through the use of print, video, and social media, that fulfill our church’s mission and vision. In collaboration with ministry heads, Geoff works to build awareness, both within St. Paul’s and for the community at large, regarding the gifts and talents of our parishioners. St. Paul’s is a church with a rich history and a creatively dynamic congregation. Geoff believes our church has many stories to tell and it’s his privilege to help them be told.
Throughout the past few years, Geoff has volunteered at St. Paul’s for a number of ministries. By far, his most rewarding experience was serving as a Vestry member from 2019 to 2021. His wife Michele and children, Lily and Rowan, also serve in various capacities at St. Paul’s. The Matteras moved from Northern Virginia to Newnan in 2014.
