Creation Care

We believe that the earth and all of creation is a gift from God and we are its stewards. One of our Eucharistic Prayers explains this theological perspective very well:

God of all power, Ruler of the Universe
you are worthy of glory and praise.
Glory to you for ever and ever.
At your command all things came to be:
the vast expanse of interstellar space,
galaxies, suns, the planets in their courses,
and this fragile earth, our island home.
By your will they were created and have their being.
(Eucharistic Prayer C, Book of Common Prayer, p. 370)

A great resource for learning more about the relationship between God, humans and the universe and between science and theology is the Catechism of Creation, prepared by The Episcopal Church Network for Science, Technology and Faith, a group of theologians and scientists in The Episcopal Church.
